Funeral Service Held For Peter Peterson

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. March 30 at the Larson Funeral Home in Story City for Peter M. Peterson wit the Rev. W. D. Winter, pastor of Grace E.U.B. church officiating. Mrs. Luther Matson sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Sweet Bye and Bye." Miss Janet Jamison served at the piano. Interment was made in Story City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were T. Z. Henryson, M. H. Henryson, Willie Egemo, John M. Johnson, Lyle Johnson and Helge Johnson.

Obituary

Peter M. Peterson was born at Story City, Story County, Iowa on April 18, 1875. He was the eldest son of Peter C. and his wife Christina Peterson.

For more than 40 years, he resided in the vicinity of Elmore, Minnesota and Buffalo Center, Iowa and lived there until his death. He was never married. He passed away on Sunday, March 27, 1955 at his home at Buffalo Center. He had reached the age of 79 years, 11 months and 9 days.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter C. Peterson , a half brother, Andrew Peterson who died as a soldier in World War I, and a sister, Mary Peterson, who passed away on July 18, 1946 in Texas.

Surviving him are one brother Charles Peterson whose whereabouts are unknown, a half brother, Lewis of Whalley, B. C., Canada, Christ of Penticon, B. C., Canada and William of Radcliffe, Iowa, 2 half sisters Miss Caroline Peterson, Story City and Mrs. Thora Christianson of Nevada, Iowa.
