OSCAR CHELSVIG
Oscar Chelsvig, 68, well-known custodian and friend of many at the Roland schools, died at 4 a.m. Tuesday at the Story City Hospital.
Born July 31, 1905, on a farm north of Roland, his parents were Joe and Hannah Chelsvig. On July 16, 1926, he was married to Judith Thompson, who preceded him in death Dec. 5, 1971.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Salem Lutheran Church in Roland. Rev. Everett Nelson will officiate and the burial will be in the Roland Cemetery.
A son, Dale Chelsvig of Story City, an a daughter, Joyce (Mrs. James) Thompson of rural Story City, survive. Others surviving are 10 grandchildren, one great grandchild, one brother, Dennis Chelsvig of Pasadena, Calif. and five sisters, Mrs. Marion Wierson of LeRoy, Minn., Mrs. John Dodds, Brownsdale, Minn., Mrs. Sid Troutner of Wells, Minn., Mrs. George Buffington of Colo and Mrs. Ernest Hougen of McCallsburg.
