THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, March 7, 1935. "ANGUS OTHELLA MENDENHALL - Angus Othella Mendenhall was born near Bangor, Marshall county, Iowa, on November 26, 1870, the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. K. Mendenhall. On October 2, 1898, he was united in marriage with Linnie Connor, at Maxwell, Iowa, and to this union were born seven children, of whom two sons died in infancy, and a daughter, Mrs. Ethel Mason, died some two years ago. Farming at Maxwell for several years, he moved to near Des Moines with his family, and later, in the spring of 1914, he moved to a farm near Chapin, Iowa. For the past five years he has farmed in the Hansell community. He was a member of the Loring Evangelical church, of near Maxwell, Iowa. Although apparently in good health, he had suffered a slight indisposition for the past several days. On Friday morning he had started for town with his son, Cecil, and death took him without warning. He was 64 years, 3 months and 3 days old. Besides his wife are four children: Cecil Mendenhall, who lives at home; Mrs. Esther Mason, of Dougherty; Robert Mendenhall, of Hampton, and Corine Mendenhall, at home. Two brothers also survive him: A. L. Mendenhall, of Bondurant, Iowa, and N. C. Mendenhall, of Wessington springs, South Dakota. Funeral services were held Monday at 10 o'clock a. m. at Hampton, in the Fox funeral home. Burial was in the Mt. Zion cemetery, near Maxwell. Rev. Martin R. Davis, of Hansell M. E. church, officiated. The community and friends join in sympathy with the bereaved in this hour of their great loss."
