THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, January 3, 1895, page 4, column 4. "On Sunday, December 23, 1894, Charles Kitchen, son of Mrs. Rachel Kitchen, at ten o'clock a. m. passed from time to eternity, aged 18 years, 9 months and 5 days. The deceased had been a sufferer from that dreaded disease, consumption, for two or three years. On the 20th of November, during the progress of the revival meeting held by the Evangelical people at Iowa Center, he accepted Christ as his Savior, and was made to rejoice in a Savior's love. He seemed to grow better from that time and soon was able to be around again. But a few days before his death, the disease again renewed its ravages, during which he passed away. Funeral services were held at the home, December 24, conducted by Rev. Force, after which the remains were interred in the Iowa Center cemetery."

THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, January 3, 1895, page 8, column 2. "Wolf Creek Pickups - Mrs. Rachel Kitchen and daughter Florence are visiting relatives in Polk County."
