THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, March 2, 1916, page 1, column 6. "OBITUARY. Mrs. Sallie Kitchen, wife of Allie Kitchen, died at her home eight miles southeast of Nevada, February 14th, after an illness of a few days of pleuro** pneumonia. She also was a sufferer from consumption. Mrs. Kitchen was forty years old. She leaves her husband and children and one sister, Mrs. Ruth Randall, of this city. Her brother, Will Wright, died a couple of years ago. Funeral services were held at Iowa Center Thursday and interment was in the Iowa Center cemetery. The family have the deepest sympathy of the whole vicinity. - Nevada Representative." **Editorial note - spelling was used from the original newspaper article.

Mrs. Clarence Smith, of Boone county, who has been very low with peneumonia, is reported to be somewhat improved and it is hoped she may soon be able to be moved to her home. She has been confined to her bed at her fathers, Alfred Kitchen, since the death of her mother.
