Last Rites Here Thursday Morning, Mrs. Emma Adams
Funeral services for Mrs. Emma E. Adams, 91, was held from the Ryan Funeral Home, Thursday morning at 10:30 o'clock with Elder O. P. Jones officiating.
Two songs "When I Shall Awake" and "Jesus Lover of My Soul" were sung by Mrs. Fred E. Metzger, Mrs. Willis H. Lyon and Mrs. Wm. Rogers. They were accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Otho Kirk.
The casket bearers were Frank Arnett, Jim Dickinson, John Hagestrom, Daniel Hornbacher, Arthur Kirchoff and Lester Wiley.
Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.*
Obituary
Emma Elizabeth Adams was born April 17, 1867 in Missouri, a daughter of Daniel and Rebecca Mitchell. Her death occurred at the Shady Lawn Nursing Home in Nevada at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25. She had been bedfast for two years.
She was married to Milton Adams, March 29, 1887 at Altoona, Kans. She had been a resident of Story county for 48 years. She was a member of the Nevada Seventh-day Adventist church.
Surviving are two sons Jesse Adams of Hutchinson, Minn. and Elston Adams of Lincoln, Neb., seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Ella Trimble of Yelm, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1927 also by three brothers and three sister, and by her parents.
Here for the services were the sons, Jesse Adams of Hutchinson, Minn. and Elston Adams and his wife of Lincoln, Neb. Others from a distance here for the last rites were Mr. and Mrs. G. V. Atkins of Mingo, and their daughter Mrs. Joe Leonard of Collins, and Mr. and Mrs. Max Weir of Ellsworth.
