At the service in the home, Mrs. T. A. Sorem of Roland sang a favorite Norwegian hymn, "Den Store Vida Flok." Rev. Onstad chose as his funeral text the words found in John 14:1-6. He also read a telegram which was received the day before from Mrs. Skromme's brothers and sisters in Norway, extending condolence to the bereaved family and greetings from the words found in St. John 5:24-28.

Lowell Accola and LeRoy Brendeland sang two duets, "Beautiful Garden of Prayer" and "No Shadows There," and Rev. Onstad sang a solo, "I Know of a Sleep in Jesus Name."

There were many beautiful floral tributes and also a large sum of money given to missions in her memory.

She came to America with her sister, Mrs. Johanna Thompson in the spring of 1905. After a lingering illness, Mrs. Skromme passed away at the Mary Greeley hospital in Ames, Iowa, on Tuesday, March 18, at the age of 62 years and 23 days.
