THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, October 31, 1901, page 4, column 2. "Local News - J. D. Ford, aged 58 years, died at the home of his nephew, J. W. Hoffman, south of town. The body was prepared by Undertaker Hugh Cooper for shipment to Parnell, Iowa where interment took place the first of the week. Mr. Ford had long been an invalid and an intense sufferer."
