THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, October 11, 1894, page 1, column 3. "DIED. - At her home in Dickinson, N. D., October 1st, 1894, Mrs. Etta Ray Foote, wife of O. E. Foote. Mrs. Foote had spent a devoted christian life, her name being recorded on the church roll of the M. E. Church at Nevada. Among her parting words were these, "I see my Saviour and the angels waiting to welcome me to my new home over there." She was conscious to the last, and sent tidings of heavenly love to her many relatives and friends. Her remains were brought to Iowa Center for burial. The funeral services were conducted by the M. E. minister of Nevada, Rev. Horsewell, at the church in Iowa Center, at 11 a.m. October 6th. Mr. and Mrs. Foote were joined in marriage last January, and while in the early bloom of life and health they took their departure for Dickinson, N. D. to found a new home. All seemed well, until suddenly the death angel visited the home and called the wife and mother from this world, leaving her husband and infant daughter to mourn her loss. Mr. Foote and the near relatives have the heartfelt sympathy of their many friends in their sad bereavement."
