THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, January 20, 1927, page 1, column 5. "DEATH OF CONRAD ENFIELD. - Conrad Enfield, aged pioneer of Washington township, Polk county, died at his home, southeast of Maxwell, Sunday afternoon, following a lingering illness of several months duration. Mr. Enfield, who was seventy-eight years of age, had continued in his accustomed pursuits until long past the age when men usually retire. He leaves besides his widow, four sons and two daughters. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Brethren church, south of town, with Rev. E. D. Fiscel, of Yale, in charge."
