John Gilmore, one of the pioneers of the northeast part of the county, died of paralysis at the home of his son, Thomas Gilmore, in Zearing. He was more than 70 years old.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Dec. 24, 1834 and died Feb. 21, 1913. He is buried in the Zearing Cemetery.
