Funeral Services for Mrs. Clemons Held on Monday

Funeral services for Mrs. Chas. Clemons, 48, who passed away at her home, 724 Seventh street, early Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Christian church in Collins, following a prayer service at the home in Nevada.

The services were in charge of Rev. C. E. Lookingbill assisted by Rev. Adkins of Collins. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery at Collins.

The singers were Mrs. Mary Tommelson, Mrs. Goethe Holmes, Tom Huntrods and Lowell Luing. Mrs. Virginia Fertig was at the piano.

In charge of the flowers which were many and beautiful were Mrs. Muriel Wilhem, Miss Patricia Purk, Miss Mildred Clemons, Mrs. Ruth Huntrod, Mrs. Wynnette Luing and Mrs. Darlene Carsrud.

The casket bearers were George Bachous, Floyd Oswalt, Tom Bullock, Roy Perry, Maurice Alderman and Guy Atkinson.

Mrs. Alma Clemons, wife of Charles Clemons, passed away at her home in Nevada at 1:30 A. M. Saturday morning after a lingering illness of several years.

She was born in Mount Vernon, Illinois December 13, 1896, the daughter of Wesley and Eliza Bundy. She was married to Charles Clemons June 5, 1914 at Bluford, Illinois. She is survived by her husband and three children, Mrs. Dwight Luing of Collins, Mrs. Frank Purk of Northwood, and Second Lieutenant Harvey Clemons of Cherry Point, North Carolina, and three grandchildren, Gary and Sherry Luing and Shirley Purk.

She is survived also by four brothers and four sisters, Noah, Lloyd, Enoch, and a twin-brother Alva of Mount Vernon, Illinois and Mrs. Nellie Jackson, Mrs. Lillie Fleener, Mrs. Effie Rector of Mount Vernon, Ill. and Mrs. Martha Friend of Bluford, Illinois.

At the age of fifteen Mrs. Clemons gave her life to Christ and united with the Baptist Church and at later years, moving to Collins, placed her letter in the Christian Church at Collins. She lived a devoted life until her death. Was a kin wife and a loving mother who always had in her mind the welfare of her family. She was moved by those that knew her and many mourn with the family because of her departure.
