Funeral Services For Claude Dawson Held At Maxwell
Maxwell, Dec 14 -- Funeral services for Claude Dawson were held Saturday afternoon at two o'clock at Cooper's funeral chapel with the Rev. Stanley Mahannah officiating. Mrs. Ray Gooden and Mrs. C. D. Kirk sang two hymns, "In the Garden" and "Good Night and Good Morning" with Mrs. Ned A. Pearson accompanist on the ogran. Pall bearers were Jack Viers, Foss Allen, Dan Peters, Ned A. Pearson, Ross Threlkeld and Ronald Geddes. Burial was made in the family lot beside his wife in the Brethren cemetery. The pastor read the following obituary.
John Claude Dawson, son of Daniel and Elizabeth Jones Dawson was born at Iowa Center, September 29, 1868 and passed away November 29, 1945 at the age of 77 years, two months and nine days. On December 4, 1889, he was united in marriage to Effie E. Cockerham, who passed away on June 24, 1941. To this union were born six children. Two sons, Tommy and LeRoy, passed away in infancy. Those surviving are John D. of Colo, Ethel Flowerdew of Twin Falls, Idaho, Marie McNabb of Maxwell and Herbert of Des Moines, thirteen grandchildren and two great grand children.
