Final Rites for Wm. J. H. Moore Held at Collins

Collins, Feb. 25--Funeral services for the late William J. H. Moore, who passed away Friday night, Feb. 15, at 11 p. m. from a heart attack, were held Monday afternoon from the Church of Christ at two o'clock with the Rev. George Adkins in charge.

A male quartet composed of Supt. R. E. Long, Rev. Duane Manning, Milton Hale and George Tiffany, with Mrs. Hugh Fertig at the piano, sang three songs, "The Old Rugged Cross," "Lead Kindly Light," and "Goodight and Good Morning."

The floral offerings were numerous and very lovely. The arrangement and care of the flowers were in charge of Mrs. K. W. Tomlinson and Mrs. D. W. Hubbard.

Ushers at the church were chosen from the high school under the direction of Principal Dale T. Peer. Interment was in Collins Evergreen Cemetery with D. W. Hubbard, Claude Ballard, R. G. Patton, George Thompson, Raymond and Roland Long acting as pallbearers.

The following brief obituary was read at the service.

William J. H. Moore, son of Charles and Della Moore, was born near Colo, Story county, April 24, 1900, and departed this life Friday, Feb. 15, 1946, at 11 p. m. at the age of 45 years, 9 months and 21 days.

He moved to the Collins community with his parents when quite young.

Here he grew to manhood and on Jan. 1, 1925, was united in marriage to Miss Macy Mullihan. To this union six children were born, namely, M. Lorena; John W.; Beverly A.; M. Colleen; Crystal D. and Bernard C.

His father and two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Hennick and Mrs. Maude Joy, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife and children who are all at home, his aged mother, Mrs. Della Moore, a sister, Mrs. Hazel McQuiston, both living near his home, three brothers, Frank of Lohrville, Fred of Ames, and Lester of Collins, several nieces and nephews and a large number of more distant relatives.

The deceased had lived most of his life in or near Collins and had a host of friends. The service were largely attended and the sympathy of all goes out to bereaved family.
