Last Rites for Harve Lough on Tuesday Afternoon

The Morfoot Funeral Home was filled to capacity Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 with relatives and friends in attendance at the last rites for Harve Lough, 64, native son of Story county who passed away early Saturday morning at his home near Shipley.

Rev. C. E. Lookingbill, long-time friend of the family, officiated at the last rites.

The music was by Mrs. E. P. Schindler, violinist, and Mrs. Arthur E. Hale, organist, who played "Nearer My God to Thee" and "Rock of Ages."

A large number of floral offerings banked the bier.

Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.

The following brief obituary was read at the funeral service by Rev. Lookingbill:

"Harve Lough, on of A. E. and Maria Lough was born in Story county January 9th, 1882, and departed this life January 12th, 1946, at 6:45 a. m. at the home of his mother near Shipley, age 64 years and 3 days.

"He grew to manhood in this community where he made many friends.

"He leaves to mourn his death one daughter, Wanda, Mrs. M. T. Scott of Colorado Springs, Colo, his mother, and two sisters, Clara Lough, living with her mother, and Mrs. Louisa Lough Anderson of Des Moines, one grandson, Gary Scott of Colorado Springs, Colo, and three nephews, Darrell Donald and Dale Anderson of Des Moines. He also leaves other relatives and a host of friends."

Among relatives from out of town in attendance at the funeral were Mrs. Louise Anderson and sons, Darrell and Donald Anderson recently discharged from service, and Dale Anderson of Des Moines, Mrs. Cleo Hornbeck and her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Brown of Des Moiness were in attendance at the last rites.
