THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, December 30, 1915, page 1, column 6. "RECEIVES WORD OF DEATH - Mrs. Charles Olinger received a telegram Monday morning advising her of the death of her father, Samuel Comer, from infirmities of old age, which occurred at the home of his son, J. J. Comer, Willis, Kansas, on Sunday. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. and interment was made at Horton, Kansas. Mr. Comer was eighty-eight years of age. Mrs. Olinger was not able to be in attendance at the funeral on account of illness."
