THE MAXWELL TRIBUNE, Maxwell, Iowa, Thursday, June 25, 1908, page 2, column 2. "Death of Mrs. Confare - Mrs. Benjamin Confare died suddenly at the home of her daughter, Mrs. U. S. Griffith, in Ames, about ten-thirty Sunday evening, the immediate cause being heart disease. The deceased was born in Cardon, Ind., December 26, 1849, and was an old resident of Iowa, living at Maxwell for a number of years, where the family have many warm friends. She was the mother of four children - Mrs. Charles John, of Maxwell; Mrs. U. S. Griffith, of Ames; Mrs. Kate Fry, of Van Horn, and a son at Ottawa, Kan. The funeral will occur at Ames at 1:30 Wednesday, following which the remains will be interred at Nevada. The deceased was an active member of the Rebekah branch of Odd Fellows, and the lodge of this place was notified of the funeral."
