Last Rites for Mrs. Mary Morell Friday Morning

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Morell, 82, who passed away at her home, 303 K avenue, Wednesday morning, were held from St. Patrick's Catholic church Friday Rev. James D. Moahoney officiating. Carl and Pau Ackerman served as altar boys.

Hymns were sung by Alma Baldus and Raymond O'Donnell, with Mrs. Reis Prati at the organ.

The pall bearers were nephews of the deceased, Martin Wheelock, Joe Roche, Francis Lynch, Pat Carmody, John Carmody and Joe Wheelock, Jr.

Committal was in the Nevada Catholic cemetery.

Mrs. Morell was born in England eighty-two years ago the twentieth of July, a daughter of Mary and John Moroney. She came to this country when a child of five years, living with her parent, first in Illinois, later in Des Moines and then in Story county.

She was married to Charles O. Morell of Colo, Feb. 20, 1894, and to this union six children were born, the son Frank passing away at the age of 15 years.

Mr. Morell passed away in 1927 and since that time Mrs. Morell lived in Nevada. For the past six years she has been in declining health and during that time has been given devoted care by her daughter, Theresa and other members of the family.

Mrs. Morell was faithful member of the Catholic church throughout her entire life.

Surviving her are the daughters, Mrs. John Varnum, of Zearing, Mrs Ernest Lindstedt of Hastings, Minn., and Miss Theresa Morell of Nevada, and the sons Charley Morell of Nevada and Fred Morell of Good Thunder, Minn. She also leaves ten grandchildren, one great grandchild, two sisters, Mrs. Joe Wheelock, Sr., of Nevada, and Mrs. Hannah Lynch of Eagle Grove and one brother, John Moroney of Nevada.

Relatives from a distance here for the last rites were Mr and Mrs. Ernest Lindstect and daughter Corrine of Hastings, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Fred Morell and children of Good Thunder, Minn., Mrs. Hannah Lynch, Mr. and Mrs. Frances Lynch of Eagle Grove, Mr. Ode Morell of Des Moines, Mrs. Jim Crosby and sons of Marshalltown, and other relatives from Ames, Colo, Nevada, and Zearing.
