Obituary of Mina McClanahan
Mina Grace McClanahan, youngest daughter of Dayton and Minerva McClanahan, was born near Farrar, Iowa, July 22, 1894, and passed away at her home in Des Moines, Sunday, June 23, 1946, at the age of 51 years and 11 months. She resided at her home near Farrar until the death of her parents and since that time had made her home with her sisters. Mina was kind and loving and will be greatly missed She was a member of the Farrar Methodist Church but attended the Trinity Methodist Church in Des Moines as long as her health permitted.
She leaves to mourn her passing one brother, E. L. McClanahan of Rhinelander, Wisconsin; five sisters--Mrs. Alice Wagley of Cambridge, Mrs. Edith Wells of Maxwell, Mrs. Ora Norton and Mrs. Viola Beal of Des Moines, and Mrs. Iva Fair of Long Beach, California; also many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Ray Gooden accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Larson sang "Rock of Ages" and "Nearer Still Nearer".
The pall bearers were Clarence Norton, Beale Norton, John Norton, Robert Norton, Dwight Norton, and Dale Beal. All were nephews of the deceased. Services were conducted by the Rev. LeRoy Sargent. Burial was in the Farrar cemetery.
