Funeral Services Held For Mrs. Wm. Greiner in State Center Church

STATE CENTER -- Mrs. William Greiner, 71, a resident of the Colo community for almost 40 years passed away Friday evening about 6 o'clock at the Woods hospital here following a two-month illness She had been confined to the hospital for about a week.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, April 11, at the home at two o'clock with the Rev. George H. Perlich, pastor of St. John's Lutheran church, officiating. Interment was in Hillside cemetery. Pallbearers were Arnold Hartwig, Ralph Riese, Thomas Carmody, Harold Greiner, Edward Greinter and John Moser. Flower bearers were Evangeline Anderson, Ruth Moser, Dorothy Weuve, Evelyn Carmody, Helen Wolken and Lillie Edler.

Mrs. Greiner was born Mary Kniel on Feb. 10, 187, in Peru, Illinois, the daughter of William Kniel and Mary Kibler Kneil. Shortly after her birth she was baptized in the Holerville Lutheran church near Peru, by Pastor Bitner. In this community she spent her early life.

On Sept. 1, 1896, she was united in marriage to William Greiner. To this union was born two children, William and Marie. The family moved to the Colo community in 1910.

Two years ago last September Mr. and Mrs. Greiner were privileged to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary.

She is survived by her husband and two children, Mrs. Marie Hartwig of Colo and Williams Greiner, Jr. of Aurora, Colorado also by her brothers, Louis Kniel of Detroit, Mich., William Kniel of Marshalltown, John Kniel of Colo by her sisters, Mrs. Kate Cross of Princeton, Illinois, and Mrs. Emma Helnig of Peru, Ill., one grandshild and two great grandchildren.
