Hold Final Services For Mrs. O. Erickson
Funeral services for the late Mrs. O. J. Erickson, who passed away on Monday, May 8, were held on Friday, May 12, from Bergen's Lutheran church in Roland with the Rev. Allen E. Nelson in charge.
A prayer service was held at her home at 1:30 p. m. At the prayer service a men's quartet, composed of her four grandsons, sang "Just As I Am" and David Peterson sang "Hold Thou My Hand."
At the church services a women's triple trio sang "Softly and Tenderly" and "My Jesus As Thou Wilt."
Pall bearers were her grandsons, Paul Knudtson of LeClaire, Donald and David Peterson, Willard and Allen Erickson of Roland and Loren Sampson of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Interment was in the Roland cemetery.
Obituary
Mrs. Erickson, nee Carrie Ritland, daughter of the late Ole and Sarah Ritland, was born near Huxley, Iowa, on Feb. 28, 1875. She was married to Ole J. Erickson on June 27, 1900. Mr. Erickson passed away three and one-half years ago.
The Erickson's have lived in the Roland community since their marriage.
Mrs. Erickson passed away on Monday, May 8, of a heart ailment at the age of 75 years.
Survivors
She is survived by three sons, Archie and Reuben of Roland and Clarence of Los Angeles, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Ben Knudtson of Dysart, Mrs. Marion Peterson of Roland and Mrs. David Rhinehardt of Los Angeles, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ole Legvold, and one brother, Andrew Ritland of Huxley.
Those from a distance were from Los Angeles, Calif., Dysart, Minneapolis, Minn., LeClaire, Sioux City, Kensett, Des Moines, Huxley, McCallsburg, Ames, Eldora, Garden City, Radcliffe and Slater.
