Hold Final Services For Mrs. Michaelson
Funeral services for the late Mrs. S. J. Michaelson, who passed away Friday morning, March 17, following an illness of several years, were held at Salem's church on Monday afternoon, March 20, with Rev. Olaf Holen in charge.
Burial was in the Roland cemetery.
O. S. Boyd sang "Rock of Ages" and "Have Thine Own Way." Rev Holen sang a solo at the home.
Casket bearers were her six grandsons, Jerry Michaelson, Eugene and Ralph Rorem, Herbert and John Michaelson and August Nelson.
Obituary
Sarah Boyd Michaelson, daughter of the late Knute and Betsey Boyd, was born in Kendall county, near Helmer, Ill., on March 8, 1871. When a year old she moved with her parents to Lee county, Illinois, coming to Roland in 1880, where she was a resident until her death.
She was married to Sam Michaelson on August 9, 1890. He passed away seven years ago.
Survivors
Surviving are her seven children Mrs. Allen Rorem of Minneapolis, Minn., Jeffrey of Des Moines, Mrs. Elmer Olson of Richmond, Calif., John and Boyd of Story City and Milton and Arline of Roland, eleven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Also three sisters, Mrs. Carrie Harnden and Mrs. Kathryn Larson of Ames and Mrs. Albert Eggland of Roland, and three brothers, Alfred and Henry Boyd of Ames and Arthur Boyd of Stanhope.
Those attending the services from a distance came from Minneapolis, Minn., Jewell, Waterloo, Stanhope, Story City, Randall, Nevada, Ames, Radcliffe, Ackley and Vincent.
