S. I. STROM BURIED LAST SATURDAY
Resident of Near McCallsburg for Twenty-Five Years Passed Away Last Week. Funeral Held Saturday.
Sivert I. Strom was born on July 24, 1837, in Bjørnør, Trondhjem, Norway. He emigrated to this country in 1869 and came direct to Minnesota. Here he was united in holy marriage to Leva Nerland in the year of 1882. The couple lived for some years at Halstead, Minn. Later they moved to this part of the country and settle near McCallsburg where they have resided for the past twenty-seven years.
Mr. Strom passed away at his home six and one-half miles north-east of Roland on January 24, 1923, at the age of 85 years and 6 months. He leaves to mourn his death besides his wife, five children: Mrs. Ed Stensland and Isaac of McCallsburg, Silas of Roland, Mrs. Paul Lura of Thompson, and Mrs. Amos Thompson of Radcliffe; also one brother in Norway. A daughter, Ane, died some years ago.
Funeral services were conducted from the Bergen Lutheran Church on Saturday with Rev. Sumstad speaking the words of comfort to the bereaved. Interment took place in the Roland cemetery.
