Harvey Southern Of Collins Dies Wed. at Age 80

Harvey Southern, 80, of Collins died Wednesday afternoon at the Des Moines General Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 18, at 2 p.m. at the Collins Methodist Church. Rev. James Lou will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery at Collins. The body will lie in state at Cooper's Funeral Home in Maxwell until Saturday noon when it will be taken to the church.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia; one daughter, Mrs. Wilma Koehler; one grandson and two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Ozmun and Mrs. Lena Renfeldt, all of Collins.

Southern had been a farmer in the Collins community for many years and also served as a rural mail carrier for a short time.

A memorial fund has been established.
