OBITUARY OF MRS. HARDING
Susan Loretta Harding died at her home in Colo, Iowa, Monday morning at 1 a. m. June 29, 1931 after an illness of fifteen months. She was a daughter of John and Susan Reynolds, pioneers of south east of Colo, where she was born Jan. 12, 1886. She attended Colo and State Center schools. Later taking music at Saint Mary's institute and under Prof. Adamson of Marshalltown. She taught music in and around Colo a number of years. She was united in marriage to Harry John Harding at State Center Dec. 31, 1921. Her father died in 1903, her mother in 1925 and brothers Joseph, John and George also preceded her in death. She was always of a cheery disposition and greatly admired by a wide circle of friends. She was a member of the W. O. club and Ladies Auxiliary and always took a great interest in club and social affairs. All was done in medical aid and loving attention and care, but seemingly recovery was impossible. She passed away peacefully to that better home where life's car and worries are at an end. Besides her husband she leaves to mourn their great loss three sisters and three brothers, James of Colo, Edd, Anna, Mrs. Mary Ernst and Mrs. Eva Haas of Chicago and Frank of Ranier, Ore. Solemn Reutem mass was at St. Mary's church, Colo, Wednesday, July 1 at 9 a. m. Father Nichols celebrant assisted by Father Nosbisch of Marshalltown, Father Buzyski of State Center, Father Frein of St. Anthony. Mrs. B. B. Dunn of Clemons sang the requiem and Father Frein gave an eloquent sermon in which he touched on the life of the deceased and paid her high tribute. The funeral was very largely attended. She was laid to rest in St. James cemetery. Honorary pall bearers were members of the W. O. club active pall bearers were Leo Croker of Ackley, John Mulcahy of State Center, Patrick Fitzgerald, Robt. Jack, Chas. Yeager, Roger Hopkins and Dr. A. G. Glann. The flowers were cared for by Mesdames Lois Yeager, Frances O'Donnell and Veva Hopkins.
