Funeral Services For Jim Cook Held Sunday

Maxwell, Oct. 25--Funeral services for Jim Cook former resident of Maxwell were held Sunday afternoon at the church of Christ in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Stanley Mahannah.

Mrs. C. I. Kirk and Mrs. E. L. Wood sang "End of a Perfect Day" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" with Mrs. Ned Pearson accompanist. Floral tributes were very beautiful, arranged and carried by Mrs. Frank Dyer and Mrs. Dan Pring. Casket-bearers were neighbors of the deceased of boyhood days, namely Sam and Mead Tomlinson, Earnest and N. Jay Pearson, W. C. Rupp and Everett Gardner.

The following brief obituary was ready by Rev. Mahannah during the rites.

James W. Cook was born at Peoria, Iowa, March 24, 1878 to Martha and George Cook and passed away Oct. 19, 1944, at his home in Lake Orion, Michigan.

He lived his boyhood days at Peoria and Maxwell, helping support his widowed mother. In 1906 he was united in marriage to Blanche McClure who preceded him in death on Feb. 1, 1941.

He returned with his youngest daughter to Michigan where he has since made his home. On Dec. 6, 1943 he was married to Jenny Mae Arndt.

Besides his wife he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Homer Nagle (Ruth) of Michigan, and Mrs. J. J. Viers (Maxine) and four grandchildren. He also leaves an only brother Frank Cook of Pontiac, Michigan and host of relatives and friends.

Interment was made n the Maxwell Cemetery.
