Funeral Services Held in Zearing For C. A. Harmon

Feb. 24--Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 12, for C. A. Harmon at 2 o'clock at the Evangelical United Brethren Church with Rev. C. L. Fuller in charge. The pallbearers were Vaughn Freeman, Charles Kleespie, Charles Norman, I. S. Madison, Troy Chance, W. C. Young. Burial was in the family lot in the Eldora Cemetery.

The songs were sung by Mesdames David Tillotson and Gerald Cook, Arthur Turner and Glenn McBride and Mrs. Walter Lund at the piano. Mrs. John Tisdale and Mrs. Guy Clattebuck took care of the flowers.

The following obituary was read

Clarence Albert Harmon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Harmon was born March 4, 1883, at Nora, Ill. His parents came to Iowa when he was a child to three. Mr. Harmon brought his family to this community in 1936 where he has continued to reside.

He married Effie Newby on June 20, 1906. Four children were born to them all of whom are living. His wife died on March 3, 1939. On Dec. 1, 1943 he married Mrs. Cora Couser.

He leaves to mourn his loss besides his widow, four children, Luverne of Colfax, Mrs. Blaine Crosser of Gifford, Dale J. of North Fairfield, Ohio, also one step son Adrian Couser of Litchfield, Minn. There are also five grandchildren and two step-grandchildren, one step-sister, Mrs. W. G. McMillen of Clarion, one-half sister, Mrs. Helen Mann of Wisconsin and one half brother, Ralph Harmon of Iowa Falls.

He was a member of the Baptist Church of Eldora.

He was caretaker of the Zearing cemetery and janitor of the Christian Church.

Truly is could be said of him that he gave freely of his services wherever needed. A Christian gentleman as well as a loving husband and father, he will be greatly missed in our community.
