Funeral Services for Hazel Anna Stowe Held Wednesday

Cambridge, Mar. 7 -- Funeral services for Hazel Anna Stowe of Cambridge, who died in Iowa Lutheran hospital in Des Moines, Sunday, March 3, were held in Cambridge, Wednesday, March 6.

She had undergone an operation at the hospital two weeks precious to her death.

Born Hazel Anna Toot in Richland township, Story county, January 19, 1898, to Chas. E. and Carrie Toot, she was married on April 23, 1917, to Harry E. Stowe of Cambridge and had lived for the past twenty-five years in this community.

She is survived by her husband, Harry E. Stowe and three children, Charles Earl of Nevada, Gaylord Lee of Sacramento, California; and Marvin Dale of Grinnell. Also two grandchildren, Larry and Charlene.

She also leaves four brothers, F. Leslie of Roland; Clarence E. of Los Angeles; C. Simpson of Nevada, and Benjamin B. of Boone. Three sisters, Pearle E. Toot of Wells, Minnesota; Katie A. Pullian and Mary J. Lann of Los Angeles, besides many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

She was confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Fernald in 1916, later transferring her membership to the United Brethern church of Cambridge.

Funeral servces were held Wednesday, March 6, at 2:00 p. m., at the Methodist church in Cambrdige with Rev. LeRoy Sargent assisted by Rev. Fitz conducting the services.

A male quartet, Mr. Dean, Mrs. Gardner, Kermit Griffith and Mr. Emrick sang: "In the Garden," "The Old Rugged Cross" and "In the Sweet Bye and Bye."

Pallbearers were Harry Cairns, Orrie Jones, Neale Sesker, Luke Bakka and Garrie Mathis of Cambridge and George Jennings of Slater.

Mrs. Kermit Griffith and Miss Marjorie Griffith assisted in the arrangement of the many beautiful floral offerings.

Burial was in the Cambridge cemetery.
