Mrs. Rasmus Larson Laid to Rest Monday In McCallsburg

Special to the Journal.
McCallsburg, April 22--Funeral services for Mrs. Rasmus Larson, 75, who died at her home here April 16, were held Monday afternoon at Bethany Lutheran church McCallsburg following a brief prayer service at the home. The service was in charge of her pastor Rev. H. N. Bakke.

Mesdames B. A. Imsland and Ray Skartvedt rendered two duets, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "We Are Going Down the Valley." Mrs. O. E. Ritland sang in Norwegian "Den Store Hvide Flok." Mrs. John Helland was at the piano. There were several gifts for missions in her memory.

The pall bearers were Sam Twedt, Abel Twedt, Sam Sampson, A. J. Bergland, B. J. Ritland and Charley Christian. The remains sere laid to rest in Warren township cemetery.

Anna Christine Olson was born in Fjeldberg parish, Norway Dec. 12, 1860 and passed away at her home in McCallsburg, Ia. April 16, 1936 at the age of 75 years, 4 month and 4 days.

She came to America at the age of 12 with her mother, Carrie Olson, and two sisters, Lena and Jennie. The remainder of her life was spent in or near McCallsburg.

In 1879 she married Severin Erickson. To this union was born six children, Edwin, Amanda, Rose, Carl, Jennie and Minnie. Her husband passed away in 1905. She later married Rasmus Larson.

Those preceded her in death are her first husband, two children, Edwin and Minnie, her parents Christen and Carrie Christenson and one sister, Mrs. Lena Larson.

Those surviving her are her husband, Rasmus Larson; four children, Mrs. Amanda Erickson, Mrs. Rose Sampson, Carl Erickson, Mrs. Jennie Johnson, and 18 grandchildren.

Out of town people at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Nesby of Rockwell City, Tom Larson aod Marshalltown, Mrs. Dewey Stineman of Washington, Ernest Sampson, Ludwig Jacobson, Mrs. E. J. Helland, Mr. and Mrs. Silas Helland and Beverly all of Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Jonas Johnson, Mrs. Martin Olson, Mr. and Mrs. Ailer Knudtson, Mrs. Christina, Johnson of Rake, Mrs. Esther Swenson of Story City.
