John Matson Dies This Morning

Story City--John Matson, 82, retired carpenter, who resided at the Sunset Home, died at the home at 1:00 this morning. He was born in Denmark and came to the United States at the age of 11 years. He spent 71 years of his life in this community.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 at the Sunset Chapel and 2:00 at the Bethel Lutheran church. Burial will be in the Story City cemetery. The Rev. A. J. Bringle will officiate.

He is survived by three sons, Henry of Story City, Andrew of Valley City, North Dakota and Louie of Charles City; three daughters, (Myrtle) Mrs. Carl Florence of Charles city, (Lillian) Mrs. Adrian Hoffman of Berkley, Calif. and (Grace) Mrs. Harold Breed of Des Moines; two brothers, Andrew of Randall and Chris of Sacramento, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Allen of Three Forks, Montana and Mrs. Matilda Christian of Dallas Center; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
