SLATER RESIDENT DIES SUDDENLY.

SLATER, Aug. 26--Lars Thompson died suddenly at his residence in town at noon yesterday from heart failure. Deceased was in his usual health until early Sunday morning when he began to suffer fro gastritis of the bowels. Dr. Swatslander was called in and soon obtained relief for the patient. Yesterday morning however a sudden change for the worse occurred and ere medical assistance could again be secured the patient was beyond help. Death occurred almost instantaneously. Mr. Thompson moved into town form his farm about two and a half years ago. Soon afterward his wife died, since which his youngest daughter has kept house for him. His sudden and unexpected death was a shock to his many friends and especially to his family which consisted of two sons and four daughters. Funeral services will be held at the house Wednesday at 10:00 a. m. after which the remains will be laid to rest in the Bethlehem cemetery.
