Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Socorro R. Balderas, 84, of Story City died August 28, 2019 at her home in Story City. Visitation will be on Friday August 30 from 4 to 7 at the Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City. Private family burial will be in the Homewood Cemetery in Ellsworth.

Socorro was born on July 20, 1935 in Piedras Hegras, Mexico to Jose and Genoveva (Camposano) Rodriquez. She married Manuel P. Balderas in Piedras Negras, Mexico. She and Manuel came to Ellsworth in May of 1978. Socorro loved to read the Bible and go to her church Casa de Dios Vida Nueva in Ames. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and her family was very important to her.

Socorro is survived by her children, Tony Balderas, Manuel Balderas, Nicolas (Cheryl) Balderas, Lupe (Craig) Dalbey, Rome (David) Ramirez, Manuel Wero Balderas and Gaby Balderas; a brother, Evelio Rodriguez and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2008 and her son Jesse Balderas in 2018.
