Sandsgaard Funeral Friday Afternoon
Special to the Journal.
Story City, Feb. 14--Funeral services for Mrs. S. K. Sandsgaard, victim of a tragic accident at her home near Rosendalle were held at one o'clock at the home and two o'clock at the Immanuel church, Friday afternoon. Rev. Oppedal conducted the services, assisted by Rev. Heimarck. Burial was made in the South St. Petri cemetery.Mrs. Sandsgaard died at her home February 7, 1927 having been accidentally shot when her husband was cleaning his gun. Besides her grief stricken husband, she leaves three small daughters, namely, Lorain, Unita, and Stella*, besides several brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Anna Hanson Sandsgaard, the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Hanson, was born on the Hanson farm seven miles southwest of Story City January 7, 1890 She lived on the farm with her parents until she grew to young womanhood. She was a member of the South St. Petri church where she was organist for several years.
March 8, 1916, she was united in marriage to Selmar K. Sandsgaard at Marshalltown. They have since made their home on farms near here, having lived on the Henry Springman farm southwest of town for several years. About two years ago they moved to the Anderson farm near Rosendale where the Sandsgaard family still make their home.
The sympathy of the entire community is extended to Mr. Sandsgaars and his children in this very sudden bereavement.
