Amos Kirby Laid to Rest on Friday

Amos Kirby, whose funeral was held Friday, with Rev. Lookingbill in charge, was the only son of Elias and Lucinda Kirby, born in Clark county this state, March 18, 1862 and died Aug. 1, 1928, at the age of 66 years, 5 months and 13 days.

When he was a small child, he with his parents moved to Champaign county, Ill., where he lived until he came back to Iowa sixteen years ago. He was married to Della Dean, Dec. 6, 1885. To this union was born seven children, 5 boys and 2 girls, Mrs. Myrtle Wycoff, Alpers, Graham, Charles, Attric who died in childhood, Fay and Mrs. Ressa Baldwin. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, children, also 3 sisters, Mrs. Mattie Tweedy, Mrs. Liza Williams and Evaline Kirby of Assumption, Ill., also 10 living grandchildren and 3 who have passed away, besides a host of friends.

He was a kind and loving father who will be missed by all. Interment was in the Nevada cemetery, following services held at the home in Milford township.
