Word of the passing of two former well known Nevada residents, but with detail lacking was received by Miss Maud Ballou who is spending the winter in Mowbridg, S. D. Christmas greetings received by her from Lillian and Charlotte Dale, also former Nevada residents living in California contained the following brief information: "Mrs. Charles Hoag was buried this week and Mrs. Lillian Monk passed away several weeks ago." Mrs. Monk was Nevada Public Librarian for a number of years and both women have many friends here who will regret their passing.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Lillian (Hoag) Monk, daughter of Edward Shove Hoag and Sarah Grace Stoddard, was born 25 August 1858 in Nevada, Story County, Iowa and died 11 December 1938 in Los Angeles County, California.
