Death of Martin McCoy

Word was dispatched Friday to James R. McCoy of Colo that his brother Martin McCoy had died in southern California, and instructions were sent back that the body is expected to arrive sometime Wednesday night. Upon its arrival the body will be taken to the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Hopkins, the latter a sister of the deceased, and the funeral will--if there are no unexpected delays--be conducted Thursday forenoon from St. Patrick's church by Father Nichols. The deceased was about 46 or 47 years of age, a bachelor and a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Roger McCoy of Colo. Of the ten McCoy children that grew to maturity he is that first that had died. He had been absent from this locality for perhaps a dozen years, being first in northern Iowa and from there going west, and finally becoming there the victim of pneumonia and dilation of the heart.
