Word of the passing of two former well known Nevada residents, but with detail lacking was received by Miss Maud Ballou who is spending the winter in Mowbridge, S. D. Christmas greetings received by her from Lillian and Charlotte Dale, also former Nevada residents living in California contained the following brief information: "Mrs. Charles Hoag was buried this week and Mrs. Lillian Monk passed away several weeks ago." Mrs. Monk was Nevada Public Librarian for a number of years and both women have many friends here who will regret their passing.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Carrie (Herrick) Hoag, daughter of John M. Herrick and Emmeline Sexton, was born 11 November 1856 in Lucas County, Iowa and died 15 December 1938 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California. She married Charles Edward Hoag on 3 May 1876 in Wapello, Louisa County, Iowa.
