OBITUARY.

Patrick Curtis.

Patrick Curtis, one of the old an respected citizens of this community, died at his home on Vine street in the city on Saturday afternoon, an was buried from St. Patrick's Catholic church on Monday forenoon. Mr. Curtis was born on January 1, 1835, on the banks of the river Boyne in County Meade, Ireland, and emigrated to the United States in 1856. He made his earlier home in Illinois and was married at Tawanda in that state on April 15, 1866, to Mary Carberry, who survives him. Their children are John, Kate (Mrs. Thos. Maroney), Thomas, James, Frank, Philip, Edward and Joseph. The family came to Story county about ten years ago and settled upon their farm in Milford township, where they lived until about two years ago, when Mr. Curtis turned over the management of the farm to one of the boys, and moved to Nevada. here he lived quietly but with the kindest regard of all who knew him, until his age of 70 years, 4 months and 5 days. Father Nichols in conducting the funeral Monday paid just tribute to the memory of deceased. The burial was in the Catholic cemetery.
