OBITUARY.

Charles Barrell.*

Charles Barrell*, an old time, highly respected citizen of Ames, die May 1st, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Sumner Holcomb, at Boone, aged about eighty years. The funeral was conducted from the Holcomb home by Rev. Seth M. Wilcox and the burial was beside the remains of his wife at Ames.

Mr. Barrell* was one of the early settlers of Ames, was engaged in the hardware business and owned the Maxwell property in the northeast part of town. He leaves three children, Ed Barrell* of Colfax, Wash., Mrs. Will Davis of Seward, Nebr., and Mrs. Holcomb of Boone. The pall bearers here were, W. M. Greeley, Parley Sheldon, M. K. Smith, M. A. Manning, J. L. Stevens of Boone and C. M. Soper of Nevada.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: The name of the deceased is Charles Barroll, not "Barrell" as stated.
