Roe Funeral Held Tuesday Afternoon

Charles W. Roe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Will Roe of Fernald, was born June 30, 1885, on a farm northeast of Nevada and died at Nevada May 27, 1928, aged 42 years, eleven months and 28 days, of a lingering illness of more than two years duration. His twin brother died at the age of two years and a half.

The days of his boyhood and young manhood were spent with his parents on the farm near Johnson Grove. On November 28, 1906 he was united in marriage to Lucy M. French of Nevada and to this union were born two daughters Vera and Dorothy, both living at home.

When he was a boy he united with the Methodist Episcopal church. Charles Roe was a man a congenial man with whom to associate, an ideal son, a faithful husband and an affectionate parent. He leaves to mourn his going, a faithful wife, two daughters, Vera and Dorothy, his father and mother and one sister, Mrs. Goldmer Hankins.

Those present from a distance at the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Louie Levin in Des Moines; Mrs. Fred Knowlton of Anita; Mrs. Mattie Bosley of Chelsea; Mr. and Mrs. Chris Chitty and family of Knoxville; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Rummons and Elwood French of Humboldt; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Smay of Madrid; Mrs. Nora Ells of Upland, California.
