Obituary.

Cora M., only daughter of Mrs Mary Stoddard, was born in Iowa Center, June 1, 1881, and died in Des Moines, September 10, 1895, after an illness of two weeks, aged 14 years, 3 months and 19 days. Cora's father died in Nevada in 1884. Mrs. M. went from Nevada to Des Moines some five or six years ago, being connected with the Highway office, from there she went to Maxwell and was engaged in the Tribune office. She had but recently returned to Des Moines when overtaken by this sore bereavement. The remains were brought to Nevada where a funeral services was conducted on Saturday afternoon by R. A. Ferguson, of Maxwell, at the home of Sam'l Harrison, a relative of Mrs. Stoddard*. The burial as in the Summit Cemetery in Mullen Settlement. This bereavement falls very heavily on Mrs. Stoddard as her family is entirely broken up. She has been in poor health herself for a number of years. Cora was a lovely girl and a favorite with all who knew her. Her mother was striving hard to fit her for usefulness in life, but how uncertain are all earthly things. The mother has the sympathy of a wide circle of friends in this part of the county, where she is so well and favorably known. It is the sincere wish of all that her own health and life may be preserved for many years. Mrs. Stoddard wishes to express her profound thanks to the good people to Nevada and vicinity, for the kindness and sympathy shown her in her sore bereavement.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Samuel Eugene Harrison was the uncle of Mary A. (Stevens) Stoddard. Mary A. Stevens was the daughter of Elias Stevens and Jane M. Harrison. Jane M. Harrison and Samuel Eugene Harrison were brother and sister.
