Funeral Services For L. O. Sinn, 76, Were Held At Story City

Funeral services for L. O. Sinn were held Tuesday at 1:30 from the Larson - Peterson funeral home and at 2:00 at the Grace E.U.B. church with Rev. W. D. Winter officiating.

Mrs. Luther Mason sang "God Be With You" at the funeral home and "The Old Rugged Cross," "Abide With Me" and "Beyond the Sunset" at the church. Mrs. Everett Anderson served at the piano and organ.

Masonic burial rites were conducted at the cemetery. Interment was made in the Story City cemetery.

Obituary.

Louie Otto Sinn, youngest son of Carl Frederick and Otalia Renig Sinn, was born in Des Moines December 16, 1875 and departed this life Saturday, April 12 at the age of 76 years, 3 months and 26 days at his farm northwest of Story City.

He grew up and attended Elmwood school in Des Moines and was also a member of the University of Christ in Des Moines.

He was united in marriage to Grace Bruce on Oct. 4, 1899. There were three children born to his union Gladys, Harold and Louie. After living in Des Moines for four years, they moved to Hartford, Iowa. Three years later they established the present home near Story City, where he has resided for the past 45 years.

He was a well known former mule dealer. He took great price and joy in showing off his livestock to his many visitors and friends who came from far and near. He was always ready and willing to attend another exhibit. One of his greatest pleasures in life was when he showed a champion pair of mules at the American Royal in Kansas City in 1950-51.

He always enjoyed good health until the last one and one-half years, when he was forced to retire from active life. He was a member of the Masonic order of Story City.

He was preceded in death by his wife five weeks ago. Earlier he was preceded by his parents, one brother and three sisters.

Those who survive his passing are: one daughter, Mrs. Gladys (Charles) Kammin of Story City; two sons, Harold E. of Burlington and Louie A. of Story City; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren and one sister.
