Obituary

Grace Minta Bruce Sinn, daughter of Pierce and Mary Bruce, was born July 25, 1990, at Palmyra, Iowa. She parted this life on March 7, 1952 at the age of 71 years, seven months and 12 days at her farm home northwest of Story City.

Grace Bruce was a member of the Methodist church of Palmyra until she was united in marriage to L. O. Sinn of Des Moines, October 4, 1899. She was baptized and became a member of the University Church of Christ shortly after they established their home in Des Moines.

Three children were born to this union, Gladys Harold and Louie. After living in Des Moines for four years, they moved to Hartford, Iowa. Three years later they established their present home near Story City where they have resided the past 45 years.

Mrs. Sinn never enjoyed good health which made it difficult for her participate in the many activities she would have loved to take part in. Five years ago she suffered a stroke, from which she never fully recovered. As a result, she devoted her life to reading and fancy work. Her greatest pride and pleasure in life came from presenting her handwork to children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and her many friends.

As a girl, Grace Bruce attended the public school at Palmyra and attended Drake University in Des Moines for two years.

Mrs. Sinn was preceded in death by her parents and one sister. Those who survive her passing are her husband, L. O. Sinn; a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Kammin of Story City; two sons, Harold of Burlington and Louie of Story City; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
