Orville Paulson Funeral Services At Story City

Funeral services for Orville L. Paulson were held in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City on Monday, January 15 at 2 p.m. The Rev. Harold T. Masted officiated.

The Story City Mens Chorus of Which Paulson had been a member sang "Open Thine Eyes" with David Greedy, soloist. The "Lord's Prayer" was sung by Kenneth Peterson.

Pall bearers were Arlen Haugland, Merle Frette, Roy Gaard, Lloyd Thompson, Joseph Romsey and Eugene Voga. Burial was in the Story City Municipal cemetery.

Life Sketch

Orville L. Paulson, son of Emma and John Paulson was born on farm west of Story City of January 26, 1913 and died at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines on January 3 after a three months illness.

He graduated from the Story City High School and served four years in the U.S. Navy.

On February 2, 1941, he was united in marriage to Hilma Sunnoe of Story City. The past eleven years he was owner of the Paulson Produce in Story City.

Orville served as secretary of the Greater Community Congress for a year; was a member of the Story City Volunteer Fire Department; the past year he served on the Board of Trustees of Immanuel Lutheran Church of which he was a member.

He is survived by his wife, Hilma and two children, a son, Steven, 14 years old and a daughter, Cynthia, 10 years; his mother, Mrs. Emma Paulson and a sister, Luetta, Mrs. Bert Christianson, all of Story City.
