Funeral Services Held in Story City For P. G. Paulson
Story City, July 11 -- Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Grace Evangelical United Brethren church, following prayer service at the Henderson Funeral Home, for P. G. Paulson, who died early Saturday morning at Mary Greeley hospital in Ames. Rev. W. E. Ulrich was in charge of the service and special music was furnished by Mrs. Vernon Anderson and Mrs. Luther Matson. Burial was in the Story City cemetery.
Peter Graves Paulson was born at Alborg, Denmark, April 16, 1872 and died in the Mary Greeley hospital at Ames, Iowa, July 5, 1947, at the age of 75 years, two months and 19 days.
Peter Paulson came to America at the age of seven years and settled with his parents just south of Jewell in Hamilton county. He later moved to Story City where he lived with his mother until his marriage to Mathilda Johnson in 1902. After marriage the Paulsons lived in Story City until 1907 when they moved to Oklahoma. After five years in Oklahoma they returned to Story City where he lived the remainder of his life.
There was born to Mr. and Mrs. Paulson four children: Harold L. Paulson of Marengo, Iowa, Melburn Paulson of Mason City, Iowa, Leora D. Paulson, deceased Dec. 8, 1931, and Esther, now Mrs. Lee Roverson of Ames, Iowa.
Others to survive P. G. Paulson are his wife, Mrs. Mathilda Paulson; two brothers: Nels P. Paulson of Ames and Henry Paulson of Story City; three sisters, Christina Wayman of Webster City, Mrs. Hans Nelson and Neah Paulson of Story City; five grandchildren and many other relatives.
