Eva L. Myers Laid to Rest Sunday Afternoon

Funeral services for Eva L. Myers, who passed away Saturday morning Aug. 9 were held from the Ryan Funeral Home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 with the Rev. C. E. Barton of Boone officiating. Mrs. Norman Dobson played appropriate music both at the opening and closing of the services. Mrs. Harold Matters and daughter had charge of the flowers.

The pall bearers were: Harold Matters, C. L. Stratton, Wm. Booher, Harold Tipton, Vern Maxwell, and George Cook. Burial was made in the Nevada cemetery.

The following obituary was read at the funeral service:

Eva Louise Chaffin Myers was born February 26, 1900 near Nevada, Iowa in Story County where she spent all her life, with the exception of eighteen years, in Jones County near Olin Iowa.

On July 4, 1922, at Nevada, Iowa, she was united in marriage with Ezra H. Myers. To this union was born one son, Wayne Eugene.

Eva Louise had been in ill health for many years and grew steadily worse. In May 1946, she was taken to the Mayo Clinic at Rochester, Minnesota after which time she had been confined to her bed. After all that loving hands and medical skill could do she passed away at her home on August 9, near Nevada, having reached the age of 47 years, 5 months and 14 days.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband and the on son at home, two sisters and two brothers, Claude Chaffin and Vera Chaffin Upton of Nevada, Bessie Chaffin Clarke of Oakland, California, and Ralph Chaffin of Akron, Ohio, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
