Minnesota Paper Gives Account H. W. Mullen Death

The Amboy (Minn.) Herald gives the following account of the passing of Henry W. Mullen who was laid to rest in Nevada cemetery Saturday afternoon March 8. Mr. Mullen was a member of a pioneer family of the Mullen Settlement, where he was born in the year 1861.

Amboy, Minn., March 14 Late last week local residents learned of the death of H. W. Mullen, which came after a long period of declining health on Thursday, March 6.

Henry W. Mullen was born in Nevada, Iowa, November 21, 1861, was the third son of William and Jane Mullen and died at the age of 85 years, 3 months and 15 days.

On October 9, 1884 he was united in marriage to Ellen Victoria Farrington.

He was engaged in farming at Nevada until 1902 at which time he retired

His wife preceded him in death in 1911 and since then has made his home with his children. He has been in ill health for the last ten years.

Surviving are three children, two sons, Cecil and Archie and one daughter, Mrs. George Rennpferd all of Amboy, one brother Albert of Atwood, Kansas, three brand children, and three great grand children.

Funeral services were conducted from the Almlie Funeral Home last Saturday morning at 9:30. Rev. Alvin R. Nygaard, Methodist Pastor, presided over the service while Mrs. Emil Miller rendered vocal music.

Following the service, the funeral procession departed for Nevada, Iowa, where interment was made that afternoon.
