OBITUARY OF KNUTE KNUDSON

Were Held at Lutheran Church in Nevada

Funeral services for Knute Knudson who died at his home one-half mile north of Shipley on July 27 were held at the Lutheran church in Nevada on Monday afternoon at 2:30 by his pastor Rev. Mintle, assisted by Rev. Yost, after which interment was in the local cemetery. The church was filled with relatives, friends and old neighbors who gathered to pay their final tribute of love and respect to the deceased. The floral offerings were many and beautiful.

Knute Knudson, son of Knute and Sarrah Knudson, was born near Odell, Ill., on March 27, 1867 and died July 27 at the age of 62 years and 4 months. He had been a sufferer of diabetes for the last ten years. Everything that loving hands could do for him were done by his family and neighbors but to no avail. He was a lover of his home and family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He united with the U. B. Church at Shipley April 24, 1921 but on account of his sickness was unable to attend as often as he wished to.

He was married to Mary C. Weidner of near Nevada on June 1, 1892 and settled down in Story county, which has been their home every since. To this union were born four children, three daughters, Mrs. Homer Thompson of Bridelyn, Minn., Mrs. LeRoss Morris of Aberdeen, South Dakota, Mrs. Scott Ross of Ames and one son, Leslie, at home. They with the mother are left to mourn his loss. He also leaves six brothers, one sister and four grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. His brothers are B. A. Knudson of Santa Ana, Calif., Solomon and Cornelius of Mt. Vernon, So. Dak., Chas. of Ranson, Ill., Ole of Ames, Jacob of Nevada, the sister Mrs. Martha Cooper of Maxwell. Mr. Knudson had been a resident of Story county for over forty years.

The family is extended a full measure of the sympathy of friends and neighbors.
