Services Held Oct. 14 For Julia Monson

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 14 in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Story City for Miss Julia Monson. Rev. Harold T. Masted officiated. Music was furnished by Mrs. Benjamin Anderson accompanied by Mrs. Arvie Jacobson on the organ.

Casketbearers were Harry Jacobson, Eldon Hand, Clarence Monson, Walter Elder Jr., Garman Elder and Martin Jacobson. Burial was in Story City Municipal cemetery.

Obituary

Julia Bertina Monson, daughter of Lars and Martha Monson was born May 4, 1882 on a farm south of Story City.

For 80 years she lived on the family farm where she was born. Last November she and her brother, Ole, moved into Story City, where she lived until her death. She had been in failing health for the past year and on September 25, suffered a heart attack and was taken to the Story City hospital where she died on October 10.

Preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters, Miss Monson is survived by three brothers, Ole, Martin and Albert, all of Story City; several nieces and nephews and many -----.
