Funeral Services Held For Magnus Miller
Funeral Services for Magnus Miller were held Thursday afternoon, Sept. 18, at 1:30 in the Larson Funeral Home and 2:00 in Bethel Lutheran Church, Story City with interment in the Story City Municipal cemetery. The Rev. A. J. Bringle officiated.
Mrs. Luther Matson and Mrs. Homer Olson sang at the church service, with Mrs. Bert Stensland at the organ.
Pall bearers were Irvin Lund, Lars Kalvik, Lars Raymond, Andrew Enderson, Arthur Goodmanson and Hans Hendrickson.
Obituary
Magnus Miller was the third child born to Anna Marie and Hans Nelson Miller. He was born October 25, 1888 at Gammil Stendrup, Vester Hasinge, Denmark and died Sept. 14, 1959 at the age of 70 years, 11 months and 19 days. He was baptized on December 16 1888 in Sandhard Lyndise Church and confirmed October 1902 in the Lutheran Faith.
He came to this country at the age of sixteen and settled in this community, where he has resided most of his life.
He was united in marriage to Ellen Wike on Feb. 12, 1914 at the Elim Lutheran Church at Randall, Ia. To this unions six children were born. They are: Clarence and Clifton of Story City; Arnold of Stanhope; Franklin of Seattle, Wash.; Arlene (Mrs. Edward Wirth) of Story City and Ruth (Mrs. Wesley Warren) of Ames.
He is survived by his wife and six children, also 25 grandchildren, one brother, Emil of Los Angeles, Calif. and four brothers and three sisters in Denmark.
